What are the residency requirements for divorce?

How long do you have to live in Alabama to obtain a divorce in this state? A person must meet the residency requirements set by the state of Alabama in order to obtain a divorce here. At least one of the spouses must have lived in Alabama for six months prior to the filing of the divorce documents.
